Music Studio Owners Meet With Florida Senator After Reaching First Year as Palm Beach County Small Business
JUPITER, FLA – The owners of Absolute Music Studios, a contemporary music lesson facility in Jupiter Fla, celebrated their first year as a small business in Palm Beach County by traveling to Washington D.C. in support of the small-business lending bill. Co-owners Kristina Balobeck and Christopher Maloney met briefly with Florida Senator Bill Nelson (D) and sat in on the Senate debate concerning the small business legislation. In addition to establishing a lending fund for small businesses, the bill would also provide $12 billion in tax breaks and enhance federal programs that support small businesses. The Senate recently passed the bill, and the House is expected to clear it as early as next week. President Obama is expected to sign the legislation into law.
“It was a great honor to have a few moments with the Senator and to see, first-hand, the legislative process which is the cornerstone of our democracy” Maloney said reflecting on the experience. “We are proud to be members of the Palm Beach business and music education community. We expect our business to grow in the coming years, and this bill could help us bring more service to our students.”
Maloney and Balobeck relocated from Los Angeles to Jupiter to open Absolute Music Studios at a time when Florida and the rest of the country were in the middle of one of the greatest recessions in seventy years. The owners, now in their second year, have become an active part of the community by bringing contemporary music education as well as revenue and job opportunities to Palm Beach County.
The ultimate fate of the bill will now be determined by the House and the President, but Absolute Music Studios is hopeful. A positive outcome in the Senate can mean that Absolute Music, along with other local businesses in Palm Beach County, can continue to grow, offer employment and contribute to the County.
Absolute Music Studios is a state of the art music lesson facility offering private instruction in all musical styles for voice, piano, guitar, electric bass, drums, brass and woodwind instruments.
